| Personal History | Born in 2335 to Caso and Biev Elyro, both Doctors serving in Starfleet at Starbase 11, Peeq Elyro was the quintessential Starfleet Brat, quickly learning about the ins and outs of Starfleet at a young age. While he excelled in his studies, Peeq's experiences were stunted because he was the only Edosian child at Starbase 11 and he was sometimes ostracized by his peers. To support his son, Caso Elyro took a sabbatical to return to his Edos with his son while his wife replaced him as Chief Medical Officer on Starbase 11. While this did help Peeq socially, he found himself more impacted by the return to Edos than anticipated and his studies were impacted as a result. After two years he and his father returned to Starbase 11, and Peeq flourished. This led him to pursue a career in Starfleet, being accepted at the Starfleet Academy Main Campus on Earth as a Medical Student. A graduate of the Starfleet Academy Class of 2357, Peeq Elyro was assigned to the Miranda Class Starship Saratoga as the Night-Watch Medical Officer. The Saratoga was assigned to Second Contact responsibilities within the Alpha Quadrant during Elyro's tenure aboard the ship and conducted high profile second contact assignments with 14 separate civilizations while Doctor Elyro was stationed there. While not a high profile assignment, Doctor Elryo was able to enhance his understanding of surgical procedures during his tenure aboard the ship and was instrumental in helping to treat the survivors of Starbase 55 following Tzenkethi attack. This incident helped to gain attention for Doctor Elyro within Starfleet Medical's upper echelons which led to Doctor Elyro being assigned to Starfleet Division 14. While being assigned to the Starfleet Medical Outpost on Endicronimas V is a highly sought after posting within the Federation and Starfleet due to their specialty in responding to atypical and unique medical conditions, Doctor Elyro found himself somewhat bored by the position as a Rehabilitative Specialist. When his tour of service was completed, Doctor Elyro petitioned to be returned to an exploratory assignment due to the damage sustained following the Borg attack at Wolf 359 and was assigned to the Nebula Class USS Leeds as the Assistant Chief Medical Officer. Initially assigned to a Deep Space Research mission, the Leeds was one of the first vessels to respond to the Cardassian withdrawal from Bajor and provided humanitarian support to the citizenry. Shortly after the discovery of the Bajoran Wormhole, the Leeds was reassigned to an exploratory mission of the Gamma Quadrant and Doctor Elyro was promoted to Chief Medical Officer after the previous Chief chose to resign her commission to remain on Bajor. During his position as Chief Medical Officer, Doctor Elyro participated in 7 First Contact missions. At the conclusion of its five year assignment, Doctor Elyro was informed that the Leeds was being reassigned back to the Alpha Quadrant. Uninterested in the routine nature of life in the Alpha Quadrant, Doctor Elyro transferred to the USS Honshu as it replaced the Leeds on assignment. Unfortunately, shortly after their return to the Gamma Quadrant, the relative peace between the Federation and the Dominion ended, requiring the Honshu to immediately return to Federation Space. When the Cardassian Union joined the Dominion, the Honshu was assigned to patrol the Cardassian Border near the Setlik System and Doctor Elyro was tasked with preparing for potential mass casualties. The battle would eventually come and the Edosian doctor was a key factor in saving many lives following the loss of 4 Starfleet ships defending the Sector. Doctor Elyro would continue to serve as Chief Medical Officer during several battles and participated in Operation Return. When the Honshu was destroyed by Dominion Forces while escorting Legate Dukat to trial, Doctor Elyro was able to help save 7 critical patients while they awaited rescue in an escape pod by the USS Constellation. After a brief return to the USS Leeds, where he participated in the Battle of Cardassia, Doctor Elyro was assigned as Chief Medical Officer for the USS Britannic. |
