| Personal History | Amara was born in the year 2344 in Cape Town South Africa to parents that she never got to meet. Only days after her birth, the ship she and her family had been travelling on came under attack from the Gorn as it had strayed to close to their boarder. Most of the crew and passengers had been killed unceremoniously. She, along with only two others had survived and she was shortly returned to Earth to be raised as an Orphan not to far from her parents home town. Because of her detached demeanour it prevented her from being adopted but she was still someone the sisters at the orphanage came to think of as one of their own. As she grew she would take the lost and lonely orphans under her wing and look out for them. There came a time at the age of 16 where she was starting to look towards her future but nothing she looked at seemed to be the right fit until someone from the Orphanage suggested she look at Starfleet because of the scope of positions and work she could take on. This did appeal to her. It had been Starfleet that had rescued her, even if she was to young to remember, she then spent the next few years engrossed in study and endeavouring to bring her physical health to the best it could possibly be. During this time she found the physical aspects of her training became something she had a real passion for not least of all the Archery she had taken up. In 2362 she enrolled at Starfleet Academy and quickly came to find that the physical side of her pre-academy training seemed to be a major part of her academic life which seemed to spill over into the security and tactical tracks. She was a solid student, not the top or bottom of her class however but still a skill tactical and security candidate. In 2365, her final year of the academy, she was sent on her training cruise. The USS Tolstoy, a midrange science vessel was the scene of her first taste at deep space exploration. Again she excelled during this training cruise and returned to the Academy for her final semester before graduation with a number of glowing reports from the Tolstoy senior officers. |

| Service Record | 2366 came around as did her class graduation and her first assignment was to the USS Saratoga right out of the Academy. As an Ensign she was mostly relegated to nightshift duties and general security. Her senior Officer was impressed with the quality of work she would put in and started placing her on nightshift bridge duty at Tactical. Nothing really happened until one particular day in 2367 when the USS Saratoga was pulled into a Federation task force assembled in haste to repel the Borg Invasion at Wolf 359. Over 40 ships went into the fight and only a small number of Officers and Crew walked away with their lives, Najuma being one of them having been pulled into an escape Pod at the last moment by Lieutenant Commander Sisko, the ships first officer. Between 2367, after the battle of Wolf 359 she was assigned to Deep Space 9 as part of the initial Starfleet contingent. She was there for almost 1 year leaving a month or so before the attempted coup on Bajor. It was during this time she met Naois Mercy. From early 2368 until 2369 Amara bounced between different assignments on stations, starbases, ships and planetary facilities, non lasting more than a month or so at best until the latter half of 2369 when she was assigned to Starbase 32 as a Security Officer. She remained in this posting until 2373, the start of the Dominion War. She was assigned to the USS Hood, an aging Excelsior Class vessel as the senior Tactical Officer. The Hood was severely damaged during the retaking of Deep Space Nine in 2374, Najuma herself loosing her left leg in the battle. It took Najuma almost a year to recover and adapt to her condition but she adjusted quickly to the prosthetic leg and was soon looking for her new posting. She did sadly miss the end of the Dominon War because of her injuries but by 2375 she was once again ready to take on her next challenge. |
