Bridge
Located on Deck 1 at the very top of the primary hull, the Main Bridge of the Starship Britannic allows for the supervision of all shipboard operations. The nerve center of the starship, the Bridge is constantly manned by the Senior Staff of the vessel - sans Chief Engineer and Chief Medical Officer - and has workstations dedicated to oversee and control every shipboard function. From this single location, the Commanding Officer could supervise all operations, ranging from plotting a course to control of humanitarian operations.Maintaining the traditional layout of workstations, the Britannic's Bridge maintains a warmer, carpeted interior designed for comfort and ease. With its most recent refit, the Bridge of the Britannic has been retrofitted to incorporate a command center similar in design to the first-generation Galaxy and Nebula Class vessels. The forward section of the Bridge houses a collaborative layout for the command officers located in the center of the bridge and independent terminals for the Helm and Tactical at the front of the Bridge. A large, wooden railing incorporates workstations for medical personnel while additional workstations are available at the back of the Bridge.
By necessity, the bridge had easy access to and from all other important areas of the ship, with six doors leading from the room. Moving clockwise from the main viewscreen, the first two doors door were located in a small alcove to the right of the conn. These doors led to a Turbolift (closest to the viewscreen) and the Captain's Ready Room. Within the Master Situation Display's alcove at the rear of the Bridge, doors were located at the port and starboard that led to the Deck 1 corridor. Parallel to the starboard alcove, a second alcove features doors to the Executive Officer's Office and the final to another turbolift.

Command Stations
Command Stations
Located in the exact center of the Britannic's Bridge are the Command Stations, providing seating for the vessel's commanding officer (starboard) and the first officer (port). Designed to promote collaboration between the Captain and Executive Officer, between these chairs was a miniaturized status display that provided command level access to all systems aboard the craft using either keyboard or vocal commands.
Medical Operations
Unique to hospital starships, the Medical Operations Console aboard the Britannic was positioned in the wooden handrail that encircled the rear half of the Command Stations. Typically manned by the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Operations workstation allowed its user to monitor any medical procedure or related task being undertaken by the Britannic to ensure efficiency and effectiveness amongst operations. In an emergency situation, Medical Operations can be used to quarantine any medical center aboard the vessel and directly control any activity.
Viewscreen
Located at the front of the Bridge, the Viewscreen of the Britannic features holographic emitters that provide a three-dimensional overview of space surrounding the vessel from data received by the Britannic's sensors. Primarily controlled from the panel at the Command Station, Operations, or Tactical, the Viewscreen also incorporates touch-sensitive controls at the bottom of the screen that can be used to control the informational overlays of the display.
Aft Stations
General Status Display
Installed in the corridor sections leading to the aft exits of the Britannic's Bridge, General Status Displays are adaptable interfaces that can be utilized to perform a variety of functions. In their default configuration, these displays provided library computer access and related information, but can be assigned other functions depending upon situation.
Master Situation Display
Located in the center of the aft bulkhead of the Britannic's Bridge, the Master Situation Display is a large, wall-mounted computer display that fulfills a multitude of operational functions. Highly detailed, the Master Situation Display incorporates detailed readouts corresponding to the Britannic and its overall mission. Incorporating a large cutaway diagram of the vessel, the Master Situation Display shows the location of key systems and hardware and can be further utilized to pinpoint systems operating outside of normal parameters.
Port Stations
Engineering
Located in an oversized workstation on the aft port bulkhead, Engineering is one the largest workstations on the Bridge of the Britannic and enables the monitoring and control of engineering functions from the Bridge. Engineering duplicates status displays from the Engine Room related to the ship's engines, systems, and allows control over energy distribution. In an emergency, Damage Control Teams can be coordinated and dispatched from the Engineering console to prioritize repair team assignments. Further, dedicated displays monitor the propulsion systems of the Britannic and allow direct control over their functions.
Environmental Control
The Environmental Control status display is used to regulate atmospheric conditions aboard the Britannic including, but not limited to, the concentration of varying gases, lighting, temperature, humidity, and gravity. One of the most closely regulated and monitored systems aboard the vessel, Environmental Controls are highly automated and this display is not typically occupied except for during an emergency.
Flight Control/Operations Station
Designed for maximum speed and efficiency of input, the combined Flight Control/Operations console oversees piloting and resource allocation aboard the Britannic. While flight operations are highly automated, the officer manning this console is responsible for navigating the Britannic, setting course, and managing the ship's engines. As the Operations Manager, this crewmember sets the operational priorities of the starship, managing shipboard resources to ensure effective systems allocations. In association with the vessel's Engineer, the Flight Control/Operations Officer also monitors the ship's subspace field geometry.
Mission Operations
Located closest to the lobby alcove on the port side of the Britannic's Bridge, Mission Operations is a status display used to support the Operation's Manager. In its default configuration, the Mission Operations Station monitors secondary missions occurring aboard the Britannic, coordinates away missions, and is manages operations of the Britannic's Shuttlebays. In addition to these duties, the Mission Ops console monitors secondary sensor usage to help prevent resource conflicts when able.
Starboard Stations
Communications
Located closest to the Viewscreen on the starboard side of the Bridge, the Communications status display helps manage all external and internal transmissions aboard the Britannic. As part of its role, the Communications console monitors and controls the Universal Translator, managing its search routines and updating the linguacode databases with new languages encountered. In addition to compiling reports and other transmissions, Communications handles encryption and decryption routines for messages from Starfleet.
Science I
Science I is the primary Science Station aboard the Britannic's Bridge and is located on the starboard aft bulkhead. Used by the Senior Science Officer, in its default configuration, Science I is designated to monitor scientific activity aboard the ship and offers priority linkages to the Britannic's sensor telescopes. With access to the LCARS Computer Network and data linkages with Starfleet's extensive libraries throughout the Federation, the Science I station allows for the processing of incoming information both quickly and efficiently by the user assigned.
Science II
Science II aboard the Britannic's Bridge has been assigned to Life Science objectives and is primarily focused on the study of living organisms - including biology, botany, zoology, microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, and related subjects - encountered by the vessel. Working closely with the Medical Operations console, Life Sciences monitors the overall health and well-being of the Britannic's crew.
Security/Tactical Station
The Security/Tactical Station is located between the Captain's Chair and the Viewscreen on the starboard side of the room. Dedicated to defensive systems control and internal security, the Tactical station links to the Britannic's sensor arrays to monitor for external threats. In the event of a threat to the ship, the officer assigned here oversees the Britannics response and manages weapons and defenses. Intrusion detection systems monitor the ship for internal threats, allowing the Security Officer to deploy Security Teams and conduct criminal investigations. Communications, launching of sensor probes, and deployment of tractor beams are also managed from this console.
Captain's Ready Room/Executive Officer's Office
Located on Deck 1, private offices have been established for the Britannic's Commanding Officer (starboard) and Executive Officer (port) close to the Main Bridge. From this room the Captain and First Officer could complete the administrative responsibilities of their position aboard the Britannic without interfering with bridge operations yet having near immediate access to the vessel's command center during a crisis. Should the Captain be away from the Britannic, use of the Ready Room transferred to the seniormost officer in command of the vessel at the time.Triangular in shape, the Ready Room and its counterpart for the Executive Officer were designed with the comfort of the user in mind. The focal point of the room was a large desk, with a built-in personal computer, and chairs for two guests to allow for private discussions with few others. A shelf behind the main work area allowed the occupant to display personal belongings, with trinkets and mementos from their career often displayed. A door near the work area provided access to a small, private bathroom for the user.
Opposite the work area, a small seating area was available that incorporated a window to space. The area featured shelving and framing built into the walls for the further storage of personal items, most often books or other small items. A couch was located directly below the shelving unit that could be used to speak with guests in a more informal setting. In situations where the user could not leave the Bridge for long periods of time the couch could be converted into a small bed for the occupant.
Observation Lounge
Located in the aft compartment of Deck 1 aboard the Starship Britannic, the Observation Lounge is a social gathering place for the crew. Taking up the location commonly held by the Executive Conference Room, the Observation Lounge is a common refuge for the crew to relax while off duty. The Observation Lounge features large windows that overlook space behind the starship and is highly reminiscent of the Officer's Lounge on the Constitution, Excelsior, and Miranda Class vessels of Starfleet's 23rd Century due to its placement. Upon entry, visitors can choose to use one of several tables to socialize with others aboard the ship and are able to obtain meals or other refreshments from replicators built into the upper-level port and starboard bulkheads. The lower level is separated from the upper by built in couches that feature wall-mounted coffee tables mounted below the windows.
The Observation Lounge is not unique and is one of several similarly appointed relaxation areas aboard the Britannic. Depending upon the needs of the crew, the Lounge can be reconfigured for other events including musical, religious, or theatrical performance.
