Mission: Prelude: Getting Ready to Depart
Location: Bridge
Timeline: MD5 - 1030 Hours

It had been exactly 90 minutes since Admiral Oban had given the Britannic her mission. Captain Lukas Fredricks strode onto the bridge from his ready room. "How are we looking, Commander Mercy?" He asked as he made his way to the command seat.

Naois stood and returned to his own seat, vacating the command chair. "All systems ready to go captain," he reported.

"Excellent." Fredricks said as he paused for Commander Mercy to vacate the Command Seat before sitting down in it himself. "All departments, status report?"

It was good news from Engineering. The hard work had paid off. Looking at Britannic now, nobody would think she'd been damaged so badly. She was moments away from flying out of dry dock under her own power. "Everything is good from Engineering, Captain." reported Faith. She'd left her deputy to man the fort. Faith wanted to be on the bridge for this moment.

A series of musical notes emitted from the flight control console as Kod'ar ran his hands across the slick glass black screen. An audible clunk echoed through the Britannic's superstructure.

"Captain, umbilicals have detached. The Britannic's engines are spun up and we are currently at station keeping."

"Excellent." Lukas said with a smile, acknowledging his Chief Engineer and Helmsman.

"Dock master signals we are clear for departure. Tactical systems all green!" Amara was standing behind the captain, trying to appear relaxed but in truth she was nervous. The next few days would be challenging for her and any number of the other offices but she felt she had no room to show any weakness.

After checking the information from his console, Lieutenant Vonn swivelled his chair to the right slightly so that he was looking back to Fredricks. "All personnel have reported their readyness, Sir," he advised the Captain.

"The science department is ready for departure. All necessary equipment has arrived and been stored correctly." Brooks said from the Science console.

"Very well. Mr Kod'ar, take us out. One quarter impulse until we clear the space dock then up to half impulse until we reach the outer marker." Fredricks ordered before turning to his chief engineer. "Lieutenant Hawkins, ready the ship for high warp."

Kod'ar was tapping in the Captain's orders into the console, when he turned in his seat, "Captain, may I remind you that regulations specify thrusters only while in Spacedock?" he arched an eyebrow.

"Thank you, Lieutenant for that reminder but you have your orders." Fredricks replied.

"Very well Captain," Kod'ar returned to his console and punched in the command.

Lukas nodded before looking in the direction of his chief engineer. "Lieutenant Hawkins, how are we looking?"

"I can give you high warp on your command, Captain." replied Faith, cautiously. She had every confidence in her team, but she'd have preferred a shakedown first. Britannic had been subject to major repairs, modifications. Experimental modifications. "But, I'd recommend we take it easy to begin with. Cruising speed, then build up in increments over an hour or so."

"You heard the Chief Engineer, Mr Kod'ar. Set course for the Chin'toka system. Warp 6 for an hour then push it up every hour after till we get to warp 8." Fredricks said, heding his engineers words of advice.

"Acknowledged Captain." Kod'ar tapped the commands into the console, the view screen providing the visual evidence of commands inputted. The star field shifted as the ship rotated on its axis and was reorientated towards their target destination. A few moments later they started to blur towards the vessel as its speed increased exponentially to Warp 6, "Captain, Warp 6 in 3,2,1."

Fredricks adjusted his seating position again as he watched the viewscreen as Britannic jumped into warp.
